Hi, I’m Steve, founder of Rock The House and ex wedding DJ with over 25 years of experience across North Wales and Mid Wales.
During my two and a half decades performing at weddings, parties and corporate events throughout the region, I noticed something that kept frustrating me. Couples who wanted a great DJ but couldn’t stretch the budget ended up taking a chance on cheaper ones, and getting burned for it. I’ve had brides crying on the phone on their wedding day because the DJ hadn’t shown up, and seen endless desperate posts online asking for help after being let down at the last minute. Not to mention the dud nights from poorly prepared, ill-equipped DJs.
The thing is, a good DJ costs £1,000 or more. For a small wedding, that’s often not in the budget. But what couples actually needed was the right gear, delivered by someone who knew what they were doing, so they could play their own music their way. So in 2020, during Covid, I decided to do something about it and launched Rock The House.
What We Do
Rock The House is a family-run audio, lighting and DJ equipment hire business serving weddings and events across North Wales, Mid Wales and Chester. My son Lewie works alongside me — between us we handle everything from the initial quote through to delivery, setup and collection.
We specialise in DIY weddings — couples who want to play their own music and create a professional atmosphere without hiring a DJ. We also serve hen and stag parties, kids’ parties, corporate events and conferences.
Every piece of equipment can be collected and self set up or delivered to your venue, set up by us, and collected the next day. We’re on call throughout your event if anything needs adjusting.
