Wilde Lodge: One of the Most Special DIY Wedding Venues in Wales
Every so often you come across a venue that just gets it right, and Wilde Lodge is one of those. Set on the River Teme near Knighton, right on the Wales and Shropshire border, it’s the kind of place that couples fall for the moment they walk in, and it’s not hard to see why.

Jemma and the team have done an incredible job of setting the place up with one idea in mind: no two couples are the same, so no wedding should be either. There are no set formulas, no fixed packages, offering modern couples the flexibility to step out of the mould and have the day their way. You get exclusive use of the entire 15 acre site, whether that’s a full weekend or several days midweek, and it’s genuinely stunning and yours to shape however you like. The main lodge, the Long Barn, the Safari Tent, the Open Barn, riverside access, camping fields and fire pits, all there for you to use across the whole stay. Ceremony by the river, dinner in the barn, dancing under the stars in the Safari Tent, a swim in the river with everyone the morning after if you’re that way inclined, even bring the dog along!

What comes through again and again from couples who’ve married there is how much care goes into it. Jemma and the team take the time to actually get to know you, and it shows in how the weekend runs. People book without even seeing the place first because a phone call is enough to know it’s right. That’s rare.
It’s a proper home where you can settle in for two, three, even four days, whether you book a weekend or take it midweek, rather than a venue you rent for an afternoon. Everyone can stay on site, the fire pits get used properly in the evening, and there’s a warmth to the place that a lot of more conventional venues just don’t have. If you want a wedding that feels personal from start to finish, this is about as good as it gets in this part of Wales.
Bringing Your Own Soundtrack to a Place Like This
Because the day at Wilde Lodge moves across so many different spaces, from the riverside to the barns to the Safari Tent, sound is worth thinking about early on. None of those spots come with a PA built in, so however you’re picturing the music, from a quiet ceremony by the water to a full evening party later, it helps to have portable audio solutions.
That’s where we come in. Rock The House supplies everything from portable battery operated outdoor speakers and mics to powerful mains powered PA systems, party lighting and DJ set ups for DIY weddings across Mid Wales, and venues like Wilde Lodge, where the day unfolds naturally across the grounds rather than staying in one room, are exactly where that setup earns its keep. You can stream to all our speakers via Bluetooth from any device at up to 4 remote separate locations. Have a look at some of our wedding packages here

If you need any help deciding drop me (Steve) a message here and I’ll get a package tailored to your needs, you can hire anything as long as you want. I’ll come the day before and get everything set up for you and be available on the phone to help for the duration of your wedding.
